His ego has standards to reach and he won't be giving in with those. He's perhaps a bit of a perfectionist, easily obsessed about things he feels strongly about. He's hungry for independence, wanting to succeed on his own terms and his own way. His will is considerable, driving him through any uphill battle with little to no hesitance on his part. He's a hard worker but also used to being very talented and bright, which sometimes results with flares of pompous ego. His brusque and often stoic behavior is not lack of people skills, those he displays when he feels like it. But more a dislike of social maneuvering and ass licking. He is what he is, and if someone doesn't like it, they can go to hell. He's not quick to make friends (sometimes impossible to approach). But he's true to those he has accepted as his friends, rare as they might be, to the point of treating them cruelly if it's for their best. At his worst he is temperamental, jealous and egoistic, driving vehemently towards self-important goals. At his best he's determined, intelligent and protective, not too shy to use his head even with issues considering his friends. |

APPEARANCE For a sixteen-year-old boy, still in middle of growth span, he's well trained and physically very fit. athletic. He's slender but obviously strong, tall but not willowy. His hair is dark, spiky and untamed. His eyes likewise dark and sometimes when he looks into the mirror he's certain they should be glowing crimson, which is ridiculous, right? But he's gone as far as once figuring out how much colored contact lenses would cost him, until at the very last moment before the purchase, he came to his senses. He doesn't like to stand out, wearing mostly dark blue, black and white, and not making a big fuss about himself. He's always been admired by the opposite sex for his looks, but he doesn't seem to care. His favorite peace of clothing is an old kimono, that once belonged to his father. He's never worn it. He acts very sure of himself, always carrying himself with certain air of confidence. For a common teenage boy, he's not clumsy, but very smooth and controlled in his body language, often even appearing calculative or cold. "Damn right, I'm a ninja genius." FAKE MEMORIES His family was old and prestigious, and along with safe childhood he got ambitions and expectations to live up for. He grewn up always competing with his older brother, resenting the fact that Itachi had always been few steps ahead of him. He doesn't often think about what happened to his family. It's somewhere at the back of his mind, like a shady nightmare. And most of times he can't really think about it. Whatever happened to them, they're gone, and he's alone. There were people who took care of him when he was little, people who didn't really care about him and he didn't care about them. He was left with the family fortune, which he hasn't touched to this day. He lives in an apartment complex in Etalon, goes to school in there and works nights in a restaurant at Maior. His life is busy most often, school, work and sports (martial arts and jogging), sometimes fun in between. However, mostly he's plagued by this sense of haste that seems to come out of nowhere, need to accomplish something, strive for an unseen goal in the future he has never seen or heard about. He just knows he has to get there. And faithful to his style, he pursues it passionately. He keeps his apartment neat, it doesn't quite feel like home anyway, and studies hard. His goal is to enter the university in the future and rebuild the name of his family. |
| "My dreams are in the past...that is where they will always be..." HISTORY Sasuke grew up in the shadow of his genius brother, always striving to be like him, to be equal, and maybe even surpass him. He loved his brother fiercely and trusted to him completely, which made his betrayal that much more difficult to admit and deal with. His childhood ended the day his idolized brother massacred his whole clan. From thereon his life has been that of an avenger's. He would train hard, hone his skills, learn whatever he could, sell himself to the enemy, betray his friends, country, and even pride to gain the strength needed to kill his brother. Obsession, borderline addiction, the blood lust he nurtured under the serious face of a child grown adult overnight. Maybe he thought it would be easy, perhaps he didn't think about anything else than himself, blinded by consuming hatred, life proved him wrong. Learning side by side, fighting for their goals, he found friends, had teachers. Until he was twelve, his brusque attitude had kept people at arms length, until Uzumaki Naruto. The idiot was as persistent as Sasuke was stubborn and for some random twist of fate, he knew how it was to be alone. First time since childhood Sasuke found himself struggling for other things aside from his desire to kill his brother. He had never expected to become close with the people who were just lining the path towards his real goals. But it happened and saying goodbye was just as hard as deciding to not give up after the death of his mother and father. As expected, those with social graces, teammates and teachers alike, knew when to give up. But the idiot fox would persist until Sasuke had beat him half dead. (And still he was unable to kill Naruto, even if by his death he would have been given Sharingan power equal to his brother's.) But what other choice he had but severing those bonds? Not doing so would only result with future more cruel than the one he had designed for himself. After leaving Konoha behind, Sasuke allied himself with Orochimaru, the sworn enemy of his friends and village. Betting with time, Sasuke learned what the old snake could teach him and then killed him. Just in time to prevent Orochimaru's plans to take over his (Sasuke's) body. However, Orochimaru didn't die completely but stayed living within Sasuke. Whether this was intentional or not is hypothetical. Realizing it was impossible to reach his destination all by himself, Sasuke recruited a new team, gathered from people much like himself, test subjects, pawns and play things, servants of Orochimaru. They helped to keep back Sasuke's old friends, Naruto, Sakura and others, and other Akatsuki (Itachi's allies) until Sasuke would get to his brother. |
| But in the end, after a bloody reunion, ten years of hatred and obsession, Itachi dies by his hand, the revenge feels hollow, nulled by the revelations about Itachi's motives. A monster becomes a ruthless hero, who gave up on his own life, love, dreams for his country, and little brother. It seems Sasuke is completely convinced by Uchiha Madara's story, perhaps wanting to believe it so bad he's tossing all caution to the wind. However, truth or false, it'll shape anew his goals and direction in life. Sasuke, being the well oiled machine of revenge, proves to be more predictable than ever and declares a war for Konoha, the very same village that drove the brothers apart. He renames his team as Eagle perhaps as a final sign of independence from both Konoha and Orochimaru. (Though, it seems Sasuke is still unable to work just by himself as is found out after the chapter that he's allying himself with Akatsuki.
